Introducing the Language Point TESOL Refresher Course

Language Point TESOL Refresher Course

There are lots of reasons people take time out of teaching; having kids, changing jobs, global pandemics, sometimes we just have to take a break.

For whatever reason you've taken time out, if you've already got an initial teaching qualification such as a Trinity CertTESOL, or CELTA, want to get back into the classroom but are a bit rusty and want to rebuild confidence, Language Point has developed a short course for teachers, to help you get back to the classroom, whether that's online or in person.

The TESOL Refresher course is a 2-week, 20-hour course in TESOL methodology with a practical focus on how to deliver lessons with confidence. We focus on the effective delivery of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation-focused lessons, as well as looking at how to stage and deliver classes focusing on the four language skills.

At the end of each week, there is a team-taught lesson (with real live students) which you will deliver together with your peers on the course, to practise the skills you develop from week to week. These lessons are planned in live tutorials with course trainers, peer-observed and evaluated through reflection in a live online session at the end of weeks 1 and 2.

The TESOL Refresher course is designed for teachers at any level of experience and qualification, whether you have been out of the classroom for a year or ten years, and aims to give you the confidence that you need to walk into your classroom and start teaching using tried-and-tested lesson structures and teaching routines, as well as the language knowledge that you gain on the course.

The next TESOL Refresher starts on May 9th, 2022, and courses will run monthly for the rest of the year. See our course page or contact us for more information, or use the online application form to apply.
